Bus Tour Fun

On Saturday, forty six of us went on the RBG sponsored bus tour to The Morton Arboretum (Lisle, IL) and the Lincoln Park Conservatory & Zoo (Chicago, IL).  We experienced some light drizzle during the first part of our trip and while there were occasional times when it looked like it would rain, it didn't materialize.  Unfortunately, we didn't get any in Janesville either and Larry had another long day of watering. Despite some construction and the inevitable challenge of traffic in downtown Chicago for the journey to Lincoln Park, the day went smoothly and it seemed like everyone enjoyed the trip.  Most of our attendees took the tram tour (see below) of The Morton Arboretum and enjoyed lunch in their cafe/restaurant.  We had about 2 hours of time on foot and were able to see much of the children's garden, maze garden and other collections closer to the visitor's center.  The Lincoln Park Conservatory was neat as were the gardens nearby.  I think the day went well and while it was a bit hot later in the afternoon, everyone seemed to weather it well and we were home by 7 pm.  Below are some of the highlights including just some elements of  the Big Bugs Exhibition at the Morton Arboretum.
